【Day 1】Iceland 5-Day Trip
Off to visit Iceland~

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
I never really thought Singapore Changi Airport was that good… until I saw Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The airport is huge, but it feels a bit old, lacks clear signage, and it’s hard to tell the different zones apart. The corridors are also too narrow. When the electric carts come by, they take up the entire walkway. Pedestrians have to stop and stand to the side to let them pass. The restrooms are small and old, and one of the stall doors was broken.
They sell tulip bulbs at the airport, and quite a few varieties too. About 10 euros a pack.

Reykjavík Keflavík International Airport
The flight from Amsterdam to Reykjavík, Iceland takes about 3 hours and 20 minutes. After landing, there was no need to go through customs or get visas/IDs/passports checked (or stamped or anything), it was quite a surprise. Keflavík Airport isn’t big, but it’s modernly designed and the restrooms are very clean. What’s interesting is that you have to walk through a shopping area to get to the exit, kinda gives off that “tourist attraction gift shop” vibe (XD)
Booked the FlyBus from the airport to the city center~

The yellow-green stuff on the ground isn’t grass, but hundred-year-old moss (

A lot of places on the highway were under repair. It gave off a “poor infrastructure, out in the countryside” kind of feeling ( )
Reykjavík City
I’d barely taken two steps after getting off the bus and I already saw a cat!! So fluffy and super cute!!!!

Who would believe this photo was taken at 9 PM~ The sunset is really late in August~

If you walk down this street, you reach the sea. On the other side of the sea are… (not enemies!) Across the sea are mountains~ It’s Mt. Esja.
Keep walking up the shopping street and you’ll reach Iceland’s most famous church: Hallgrímskirkja.

Behind me is the famous rainbow shopping street(Skólavörðustígur) (the tourist street)~

Even though it’s past 9 PM, there are still quite a lot of people.
Dinner
Tried the hot dog that Bill Clinton ate: Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur
Supposedly the best hot dog in all of Europe~

It was drizzling when we bought it, so we stood under the eaves to finish it… The weather was pretty cold, so the hot hot dog was really nice! It also had fried onion bits inside. The yellow one is mustard, and the brown one is a savory sauce (couldn’t quite tell what it was). I heard the hot dogs are made of lamb! It really was delicious, but the price was a bit steep, 830 ISK for one. My friend commented that it’s not as good as an IKEA hot dog qwq (Later we found the same hot dogs in a Bónus supermarket, about 600 ISK for a pack of five… so we just made them ourselves after that)
A Stroll After Dinner
On the way back, there were very few people on Rainbow Street, so I got some good photos~

Later, we walked back near Hallgrímskirkja and took a couple more shots.
